Work from the source

Use the actual invoice, agreement, or system record for each check. Keep an unresolved item open when evidence is missing rather than marking the task complete because time was spent on it.

Handle private information carefully

Store sensitive records in the appropriate private location and give access only to the people who need it. A public checklist can describe the process without exposing the underlying documents.

End with a short exception list

Record what remains, who owns it, and the next date to check. Confirm any formal obligations with the responsible professional or authority for the actual organization.
