Start with use
Give each note a title that hints at the task it supports. Add a short explanation of when to open it and a link to the real private note in your own version.
Keep uncertainty visible
Working notes can contain incomplete ideas. Mark them as such rather than presenting every saved statement as settled knowledge. Preserve source links and dates where they matter.
A small maintenance routine
At a monthly review, update the notes you actually used, archive obsolete ones, and connect any useful new material. An index should reduce retrieval effort rather than become another collection to manage.
