Product Requirements · Example edition
Describe the user outcome before the feature list.
This fictional feature gives a project owner a maintained handover index. The specification describes desired behavior for review and does not claim that the feature is already implemented.
| Requirement | Expected behavior | Acceptance check |
|---|---|---|
| Create an entry | Owner adds purpose and location | Entry appears with required fields |
| Assign responsibility | Entry names an update owner | Owner is visible beside the item |
| Mark status | Entry shows draft or approved | Status remains readable without color |
| Review history | A review date is recorded | Date is visible in the index |
User problem
A receiving collaborator can open the project folder but cannot tell which item is current or who maintains it. The feature should help them complete that orientation task.
Scope boundaries
The first version organizes references and responsibility. It does not add a new file editor, automatic synchronization, or a permission system of its own.
Open decisions
Confirm who may approve an entry, how archived items appear, and what happens when a referenced file is removed. Resolve these behaviors before implementation begins.
