Research Plan · Example edition
A study small enough to answer one question.
This fictional study asks whether a document index helps a new project owner find the approved material. It is a planning example with a small exploratory sample.
The working agreement
| Stage | Activity | Output |
|---|---|---|
| Prepare | Define one lookup task | Task and completion rule |
| Recruit | Invite relevant collaborators | Consent and schedule |
| Observe | Run six individual sessions | Non-identifying task notes |
| Synthesize | Compare difficulties and exceptions | Findings with limitations |
| Decide | Review the prototype | Next test or revision |
The research question
Can a person unfamiliar with the project find the approved menu and identify its update owner? Keep the task stable enough that observations can be compared.
